Overview

YT Series ("the Extension") lets you manage YouTube playlists as TV series with progress tracking. This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data Collected

Stored Locally (chrome.storage)

All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage.local and storage.sync APIs:

By default, the Extension does not collect your name or email. Optional Cloud Sync (see below) uses your Google account only when you sign in.

Cloud Sync (optional, Firebase)

If you choose Sign in with Google in Settings, the Extension syncs series progress and minimal playlist metadata to Google Firebase Firestore (EU region when configured as europe-west). Data is stored under your Firebase user ID and protected by security rules so only you can read or write your documents.

You can sign out at any time. Resetting all data in Settings also removes your remote series documents and signs you out.

YouTube Data API

When you add a playlist or search YouTube, the Extension sends requests to the YouTube Data API v3 using your API key. These requests fetch public playlist metadata, video lists, and search results. No authentication is used—only public data is accessed.

Data Transmission

The Extension communicates externally only with:

No analytics, no advertising trackers, and no third-party scripts in the Extension UI. The Cloudflare Worker relay does not log or store personal data.

Data Retention & Deletion

All data persists in chrome.storage until you either:

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. You can view, export, or delete your data at any time through the Extension's interface or by clearing Chrome storage.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
